Account and points
A feature shows a lock, or says it is not in my tier
Features come with your tier. See the "Includes" line under "Settings → Points"; ask an admin to change tier.
I forgot my password
Ask an admin to reset it; you get a link to set a new one. There is no self-service reset on the site.
I lost my phone and cannot get two-step codes
Sign in with a recovery code saved when you turned on two-step verification; each works once. Without recovery codes, ask an admin to reset two-step verification.
Where did my points go
"Settings → Points → Show the ledger" lists every entry, and entries linked to a run open it. Each run first holds an estimate, then settles on what it actually used.
Conversations and strategies
My message will not send
Common reasons: a run in this conversation has not finished; you have as many runs going as your tier allows (the notice names the conversation holding the slot); today's runs, tokens, backtests or factor runs are used up, reset at 00:00 UTC; you are out of points: ask an admin for more, or wait for the period to reset.
The Agent misread what I meant
Look at the board's "Spec" tab, find what was misread, and say exactly what to change, such as "stop loss 5%" or "long only". That is quicker than describing the idea again.
Can I edit a template card before sending it
No. Clicking it sends it and starts the run, which counts as a run and uses points. To change the wording, write it yourself in the input box, following the card.
The result is marked "synthetic"
This run used generated prices, good only for checking that the strategy runs. Choose "exchange bars" as the data source and run again to see the backtest on real price history.
The backtest failed for lack of history
There are not enough bars before the start to warm up the strategy, which is common for symbols listed recently. Move the start later, or shorten the indicators' look-back.
The backtest failed with "account liquidated"
Equity fell below 0 during the backtest (liquidation) and the backtest stopped there. Lower leverage or total exposure, and add a stop loss.
Can I edit the strategy code myself
Yes. The board's "Code" tab is editable; after a change, click "Run backtest with this code"; the code area on the strategy page is editable too, and a change is saved as a new version.
Can I delete a conversation
No, only archive it. Archived conversations leave the default list and can be restored at any time.
Tuning made it worse
Tuning picks parameters on the same stretch of history, so the top set often looks better than it is. Look at how it did in the last stretch of the backtest range first; if no candidate beats your parameters over both the whole range and the last stretch, the platform's conclusion is to keep them; if the last stretch cannot be compared on its own, it only says "not confirmed" and draws no conclusion.
Factors and research
Why was my factor vetoed
The effectiveness gate's |t| missed the threshold: the signal is not significant enough and may be chance. You can still tick the acknowledgement and promote it.
A strategy uses a factor that is not promoted
Strategies can only use promoted factors. If a request refers to a version that is not promoted yet, the platform tells you; reply "promote …" exactly as it shows to promote it. If your request named the factor by its reference name, it carries on by itself once promoted; otherwise send the request again.
A document cannot be read
Common reasons: scanned pages without a text layer while your tier has no pictures; a link behind a sign-in, a paywall or a bot check; text that is not UTF-8 or GB18030. Download the page and upload it as a file.
Data and paper trading
My upload failed validation
Read the reason: encoding not UTF-8, required columns missing, a bar size other than 1h / 4h / 1d, prices that make no sense, too many missing bars. Fix the file and upload again; if it says the problem is on the platform's side, click "Retry".
Why do backtest and paper results differ
They use different prices: a backtest uses a stretch of history, paper trading uses prices as they arrive after you start. A paper account fills like the backtest; testnet uses the exchange's actual fills.
My paper account stopped by itself
The account page shows why; the common reasons are liquidation and running out of points; testnet accounts can also stop for the drawdown stop, outside fills on the exchange account, orders rejected by the exchange, or positions drifting too far from target.
A strategy error does not stop the account, but marks it as error and keeps retrying the failed bar without moving on, with the error in "Steps". Fix the strategy, save a new version and switch to it on the account page without stopping first: the old positions are closed (a paper account at the stuck bar's open, a testnet account with market orders) and the new version carries on from that bar.
Contests
The contest check fails when I submit
The panel shows the reason, one at a time; fix it and check again for the next. Common ones: the backtest did not use Binance data, is not on perpetual contracts, uses a bar size or symbols the season does not allow, or uses temporary parameters (save a new version first).
Where are the prescreening results
On the PM.finance contest pages. On HyperPM, only the prescreening backtest is in your runs.
